High Voltage gloves with leather protectors are provided to safely disarm the high-voltage system manually. The gloves with leather protectors ensure the Emergency responder meets OSHA regulations.

In the event of a suspected NiMH electrolyte leak, place one of the test strips in the suspected leak area . If the test strip turns blue there is NiMH electrolyte solution present. The leak needs to be diluted with a solution provided in the kit.
If leak is present, use caution. The NiMH electrolyte has a ph of 13.5 and is harmful to skin.
In the event of a NiMH leak, it is possible to dilute the NiMH electrolyte to safe levels. Use the expandable jug with premeasured powder to dilute NiMH electrolyte.Fill the provided jug with water and shake well to mix the solution. Pour the mixture directly on the spill to dilute.
It is suggested to retest the diluted area with the test strips to confirm the spill is safe.

Some Hybrid require the use of tools to access the high-voltage disconnect or high-voltage fuses. The Hybrid Safety Kit includes insulated hand tools to manually disconnect current model Hybrids in a safe manner and meet OSHA regulations.

The Voltage Armor is a 1000V insulated blanket provided as an extra layer of protection for the Emergency Responder. The blanket can be used while manually dis arming the High voltage system or after the system has been disarmed while the capacitors are discharging.
